David Forge
David Forge has spent more than a decade in high-end residential landscape and pool design. He trained in landscape architecture in Melbourne and spent his formative years with some of the city's most respected names: Ian Barker Gardens, a Chelsea Flower Show medallist, Franklin Landscape and Design, and Fleming's Nurseries, practices whose work spans the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show and Channel 9's The Block.
His design process begins with function. Before a garden is asked to be beautiful, it must genuinely support the way its owners entertain, relax and live each day. From there, each landscape is shaped to feel intentional, liveable and connected to the home, and it is drawn with a clear understanding of how it will be built.
As director, David is the design lead on every Forge project. He is the person you meet at the first consultation, the hand behind the design, and your single point of contact through to completion.

Forge Design and Build works from a simple conviction. The best outdoor spaces are conceived as a whole, with the pool, the garden and the places people gather resolved together by one design lead who remains accountable for the outcome.
Behind every project is a wider team. Landscape and architectural designers, 3D visualisers and documenters work alongside our trusted network of engineers, pool builders, landscape contractors and horticulturists. Together they give the studio the depth and capacity to deliver projects of any scale, with the care of a boutique practice.

Ian Barker Gardens
After graduating in landscape architecture in Melbourne, David joins Ian Barker Gardens, a Chelsea Flower Show medallist. His formative years also take in Franklin Landscape and Design and Fleming's Nurseries, practices whose work spans the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show and Channel 9's The Block.

Forge Landscape Studio is founded
David establishes Forge Landscape Studio to design gardens, pools and outdoor living spaces for private clients, with each commission led personally from the first meeting.
- 2021
Forge Landscape Studio Pty Ltd
The studio is incorporated. Its commissions range from inner-suburban gardens to acreage and waterfront properties.

Pools, landscapes and 3D
The studio's work settles on pools and landscapes designed together, with every concept presented in 3D so that clients can see the space before it is built.
