A weatherboard home on a suburban block, with a brief for a pool that would read as a garden feature. The design raises the pool on a plinth of recycled red brick so that it sits in the garden as a considered object, places a white steel pergola over it for shade, and lays bluestone stepping stones through the lawn to reach it.

The front garden follows the same language: clipped box hedging, standard roses and a brick path to the door, so the property reads as a single design from the street to the rear boundary. After dark, uplighting on the brickwork turns the pool into a lantern.
